The Renfrew and Lanark landowners held our first joint meeting in Renfrew on Wednesday January 21, 2004:

Approximately 250 people came out to hear our message, regarding our loss of property rights and the mounting government intrusion into private lives, and property. In addition to the landowners associations, our local MP’s, Scott Reid and Cheryl Gallant, and MPP John Yakabuski spoke out on many issues including; woodlot and maple syrup producers being attacked with property tax reclassifications, Kyoto protocols, and the loss of property rights. Bob Fowler from the Ontario Property Rights & Environmental alliance gave an informative and entertaining presentation on the influence of Maurice Strong, and the United nations involvement in removing private property ownership, through regulations and accords. Candy Schwan briefed the audience on the continuing plight of rural sawmills and the Ministry of Environments attack on these operations.

Many new memberships, signs and bumper stickers were sold to the people in attendance.
