For the first time in the history of the LLA there will be an Annual General Meeting. This is your opportunity to participate in the democratic system that the LLA so stonachly supports. Democracy is one of the corner stones of this association, don’t deny yourself the “freedom of speech” have your say. The LLA constitution allows for paid up members to run for the positions of director and President on an annual bases.
If you have not already received your information package it should arrive shortly by mail. Please read it carefully and exercise your democratic and constitutional right as an LLA member and vote.
The AGM will take place Saturday December 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church Hall [located on the main street] in Pakenham.
Also all those that have membership books must return them to the treasurer of the LLA by November 25, 2007 so the membership audit can be completed. New membership books will be exchanged for the old ones. As well with your renewed LLA membership you will receive a new, plastic embossed membership card. You must renew your membership to be able to vote at the AGM, if you renew that day you will receive your new membership card at the same time. New technology allows us to look after your membership with more accountability and ensures your privacy as well. We will have lots of copies of the LLA constitution on hand and if there is to be any amendments, the AGM will be the place to do it. Thank-you.
Bill Duncan - President LLA 613-623-6679
